The last five years have been very challenging for me. Sometimes I feel like screaming "whoever has their finger on the fast forward button would you please slow down to play!" My life has been so out-of-control. It feels like we were just celebrating the new millenium and now we're only a couple years away from another decade? What the hec happened? Too weird. This weekend the girl who used to live next door came to visit. All my babies are grown-up. She was such a tomboy. Now she's such a pretty lady. She was at my home almost every weekend from the time she was 3 until we moved away when she was 13. I've missed her. She was playing with my nieces, who are 4 and 2, it made me feel so nostalgic. I was telling the kids about when she and my son were both 6 and my younger son was 3. They were on the front porch playing and I peeked out at them. My older son and she were arresting my younger son. They stood on each side of him holding his arms as they lead him to a seat. They told him to sit, which he did. She then announced that he was on-trial for espionage and that he should not try to escape as all attempts would be futile. ha ha! OMG, I couldn't stop laughing! They were always playing make-believe. I had plenty of costumes and props available. They kept themselves entertained for hours with their own stories. You know, originally I planned to not let them play with toy guns or weapons. When my older son was three he wanted the toy guns so badly. He loved everything army-oriented. Finally, after watching him use tree branches for guns while he played, my husband and I decided we might as well let him have the flashing space gun he wanted. Well, suffice to say our play props included wands, clubs, axes, swords, shields, crowns, machine guns, army helmets, fire hats, ninja head bands - you name it - we had it in the prop chest. Most of the props are broken and long gone today. But the kids had a blast playing with them and are actually quite "peace-oriented" in their outlook. So I guess I'd be any psychologists' nightmare but my kids had fun playing and they appear to fully comprehend the reality of weapons and the permanency of death. If I recall Penny, was your Andrew crazy about trucks? We had a tons of trucks too - excavators, graders, backhoes, dump tucks, and all sorts of firetrucks. I wonder what your new babies will be like? They all have such distinct personalities. It amazes me that each of us are so original.

Three grandchildren...very exciting indeed! Wow! Who knows, Scott & Melissa might be adding to that next year - as there's still plenty of time? ![]()
They then proceeded to take turns questioning him and announced he had been found guilty. His punishment was to sit in the jail (the sandbox).284
