Between going to Canada for the final ski trip of the season (beautiful Whistler, British Columbia, host of the 2010 winter Olympics), a busy work project, and a sooner-than-expected trip to see my dad, life's been a whirl lately. I just got back Monday night from a few days visiting Dad and staying with my sister (which means a 45-minute drive back-and-forth every day). My dad had to be hospitalized while I was in Canada and got out a week and a half later. It was important to go and spend some time with him, as he's been failing and has been pretty anxious and in need of extra support. His 24-hour caregiver does a wonderful job, but having family around provides that extra boost of reassurance. Please keep him in your thoughts, as he can use all the good vibes he can get. I hope to be better at keeping up with you all now that I'm home for a while (I think!).

Aha, a mini-milestone for you today, eh, Gina? I'll help pull for you (and your son, of course) to fulfill your wish for today. That would be a great gift for him to give himself as well as you. But regardless, hope you have a rip-roarin' fun day of celebration. Clink of the champagne glass to you!
