Hi Gina,
Don't change your mind about how you like Troy and his performence in it even though he has a different point of view. Artists have often very different opinions on their work as the impact they had on the audience. For example I remember his comments about playing Louis in Interview with the Vampire right after the movie was out and later. He said that he didn't enjoy playing Louis because it was a depressing part and the emotions he had to convey with Louis were staying with him during the whole time of production of the movie and that he didn't like that feeling and had trouble to get rid of it later. But I think his performence as Louis as perfect and definitely my favorite of his, no matter how he percieves it or how he remember has was feeling at that time. The way one is touched by any piece of art is very personal and shouldn't have to do with how other people feel about it even the creator.
