But Brad is indeed looking good and happy in the recent photos from the Babel premiere and other events. He sure is a busy guy. I'm back from New Orleans (guess I'm missing Brad's visit there by a couple of weeks) and Chicago, and my hub and I have just come to the end of a really busy, social weekend back home. My conference in New Orleans was pretty good, though not the best. I did get around the French Quarter a bit to look around and enjoy some local delicacies like crawfish etouffee and file gumbo -- yum. Downtown and the French Quarter looked mostly OK, so they certainly weren't representative of the devastation that is still apparent outside the city center. My dad is pretty frail now and mostly using a wheelchair, but thank God for his caregiver, who helps him with everything and keeps him going. It's a big responsibility to be a 24-hour caregiver. This guy is really dedicated and vigilant. We went with another couple today to see Cirque du Soleil. They were outstanding, as usual. I don't know how they manage some of their amazing stunts. One guy does some very scary-looking things on a ladder that look incredibly dangerous. And only they can make jumping up and down on beds look exciting. LOL I thought I'd get to see "Babel" this weekend, but we had too many commitments, so we now have plans to catch it on Monday night. I've read much good reaction to it. Can't wait!
