Guys, Long time cooks but complete greenhorns in the world of competition cooking. I know we have lots to learn but eager to get our feet wet.
I may be missing it but can’t find a list of events for 2024. I saw where we would need to join as a cook team but couldn’t find where to sign up for upcoming events either.
The newbie in me is probably missing something but I’d appreciate all the help you can give on how to go about this. Thanks guys.

Welcome Newbie Team, You can find upcoming events listed at the bottom of the 2023 Calendar (we will change it over to 2024 soon), however not all are listed and most are not open for team registration. The SCBA posts the Cooker packets when they are released by the Event Organizers. A quick way to see if they are posted is to look for the red star ( * ) after the listing. Good luck in the upcoming year.

Hi and welcome to the family. I am Joe Hilliard, (Bold Branch BBQ Boys) long time cook and one of the SCBA cooker liaisons. I will be very happy to help you any way possible to get you started. Please call on me to answer questions you might have about your first and subsequent contests. You mentioned joining the SCBA to cook with us. That is not a requirement. You will just need to fill out the entry forms for a contest you want to cook and send in your entry fee. joehilliard3@bellsouth.net

You might want to consider being a judge to help you know what you’re judged on and see some turn in boxes. You can do both at the same time, just not on the same weekend.
