For everyone who signed up and were accepted, thank you for agreeing to participate in the 2023 Pig in the Park BBQ Festival and Cook-off in Williamston, SC on May 20th. Please note there is no Friday night event.
We have 18 of South Carolina’s finest teams participating so you are in for a treat.
Judging will take place at the Masonic Lodge, 111 Gossett Drive, Williamston SC. Because the railroad underpass is questionable follow these directions to the lodge from Main Street (Hwy 20): In town turn onto Mill Street at the United Methodist Church, turn right onto Williams Street, turn right onto Gossett Drive at the cemetery and the Lodge will be down the road on the right.
The judges meeting will start promptly at 9:00 am and assignments have already been made for this event. Please do not be late for this meeting.
Turn-in times are as follows:
10:00 am (9:50 am – 10:05 am) – Pork
11:00 am (10:50 am – 11:05 am) – Ribs (Team Option)
If you will be advancing in rank, please get in touch with us ASAP so we can be prepared to recognize you and present you with your new apron.
Remember if you have a family member competing in this event or assisting a cook-team, you will not be able to judge but we can assign you to other duties. Please let us know ASAP if you have a family member cooking in this event.
Also, please remember not to fraternize with the cook teams or enter their cooking area on Saturday morning until all judging is officially over with. After all judging has been completed, we encourage you to go out and talk with the cook teams and thank them.
Lastly, if you are signed up for this event and are unable to attend, for any reason, I ask that you please let us know ASAP because we are counting on your attendance.
