Cook Teams:
We are all watching the progress of Florence as it moves from tropical storm to hurricane and, even more importantly, where and when it will make landfall. As you know, Mullins is close enough to the coast that the impact could be very real and very serious. Also, many of the City of Mullins employees and First Responders that we rely on for logistical support could be unavailable to us during a state of emergency.
We are meeting tomorrow morning to discuss options and contingency plans if we are forced to not have the event on the 14th and 15th as planned. Given the forecasts we have seen, it will probably be Wednesday before we can make a final call as to what is, or is not, going to happen with this event.
On behalf of the entire group that works so hard to make this event a success, I apologize for not being able to give you a better answer at this time, but until there is some certainty to the forecast track and strength of Florence, all we can do is plan for contingencies and do the best we can. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
