Twelve SCBA Cook Teams qualified for the 2017 SCBA Cook's School held on January 20 in Columbia. The purpose of the school is to help teams who are not placing well in SCBA events to improve. The instructors were SC State Grand Champion JT Handy of JT's BBQ and 2016 SC State Grand Champions Gene and Tessa Culbertson of Backwoods Bar-B-Que. Teams were taught the tips and technique of preparing Championship Barbeque.
