Starting at 17 and counting off is a great idea. I think that it would put the judges in the right frame of mind to give a perfect score. Currently we go into a judging and virtually the last words we here from the the table captain is the current average score. We are training ourselves to start scoring from a number that should not matter to us as judges. Average score should only matter to cookers, so that they can see how they compare to the competition.
