The reason I mention this is that world-famous Brookgreen Gardens is in Murrell’s Inlet (on Highway 17) and if you have not visited that remarkable gem, which is really the pride of our state, then you should go there after the judging is over.
Brookgreen is unique in America and the best display of American sculptors in the nation. It also houses a remarkable zoo of South Eastern fauna and flora. Indeed, there is nothing like it anywhere else. It is South Carolina’s most famous garden and not to be missed. I go there every time I’m close by and have been going yearly since my parents introduced it to me when I was in grammar school. Your children and grandchildren will love it, as will you.
