Greg Gladney called and reminded me (I had forgotten) that we have never awarded MBA points at the Best of the Best because it is an invitational event and all cookers, therefore, are not eligible to enter. We only give points in those events where everyone may enter if they wish.
We did not give points last year (or the year before) nor will we be giving points this year either.
Since the Shrine moved the Best of the Best from the end of the year (as it was last year) to September, there were only 16 teams eligible this year because many of the events the SCBA judges had not taken place.
Sorry for the confusion.
