At each event we ask the event personnel if they want to do the presentations or if they want us to do them. We encourage the event personnel to do the awards since it is their event and they should more properly do it. Generally that is they way it is done. However, we do occasionally do the presentations if asked but in Chapin they preferred to do it themselves.
I was there taking pictures of the winning teams and I was the SCBA event Marshal. So, your statement that “the SCBA Officials were not present and helping and/or thanking the cook teams or the event people at the awards ceremony. Where were you???” is incorrect.
Apparently since I was there you must not know me when you see me. I was the funny looking, semi-fat, fellow with the SCBA hat and the big red apron that said “SCBA” and “Marshal” on it. I am the same fellow who discussed the SCBA rules at the cook's meeting on Friday evening.
But please note; I do not marshal every event, indeed I marshal only three or four of them so it will probably be someone else that you might overlook at the next event.
