Last year at the annual meeting the SCBA judged several sauces that were available on the commercial market. We want to do that again.
This year we have revised the score sheet somewhat and we also have a slightly different scoring system.
If you entered a sauce last year you should also enter this year so as to try your sauce under our new system.
If you did not enter your sauce last year you should do so this year since you will be able to advertise your SCBA award on your label assuming your sauce does wins an award.
To be eligible your sauce must be available for commercial sale; that is, it must be properly bottled for sale to the public.
You may, if you wish, also set up a display of your sauce(s) for sale at the annual meeting and all of the proceeds are yours to keep. In other words, there is no fee to enter this year’s contest.
If you have a sauce you would like judged you will need to notify me (lhigh1@sc.rr.com) and I will mail you an entry form. You must also bring at least 3 bottles of your sauce to the annual meeting.
Don’t miss this opportunity to try to be able to advertise your sauce as a prize winner from an organization that has gained a national reputation for having the best trained barbeque judges in the nation.
