I ran the averages for most of 2008 and most of the contests for 2009 so far. Some of the contests are not on the site, and some that are, the link does not work, so I am working with incomplete data. Nontheless, I don't think it would change much, as the trend continues from the last two years with average and median scores increasing. However, there is a decrease in #1 place scores over the past 3 years.
