A good win in difficult circumstances for the Pies. Out went Charlie's only tactic - down the wings and over and the team were a bit more compact although moving Davies into centre seemed a bit odd.A great goal from Rodgers after an even better pass settled the nerves and Crewe looked clueless.Hughes continued to look out of sorts and it was notable that the only second half goal came from a non-striker. Ade whatever his name is came on in the second and looked more like a midfielder. Schmeichel played very well and in addition to his penalty save, made two good stops. We need a manager though. It will be more difficult to get past the Shrews on this form.

Think we will be with the same setup for that game as well. Bradford in the cup will be the new manager's first outing. The Shrews will be more of a test but one I think we can pass and Hughes must come back to form soon. However they are the first of 4 difficult matches in a row and where we are after all four will show what the current squad are made of. The best bit though is that even if they fail I think we have plenty of pennies in the bank to reinforce come January.

For me, another disappointing match in which Notts were the better team but only due to Crewe being poor & in spite of this, Kasper still had to show that he is a quality keeper! The current temp' management team are an improvement on Charlie but aren't showing that they are capable of taking Notts where we want/ expect to be, so hurry up with the new manager!

As usual, I can't disagree with anything you say (which makes for a very boring messageboard) I'm slightly worried that Johnson can't do much to out think opponents. Hope we just have superior players against the Shrews.

Let's be positive & mention the 2 clean sheets under this temp' management which, should it continue means at least a point against Shrewsbury!

The second half was almost like the Torquay match. The midfielders were sitting on the back four and West carr was without a doubt having a bad game. In fact after he scored that brilliant goal he still had a bad game! Kasper had his best game yet, thank God.

Am just waiting on the new (Tory) administration to decide my future with the county council so I may yet be joining you ! I don't expect to fare any better. Good hunting. There doesn't seem to be much around these days.
