Well, a much better start than we expected although I thought Bradford were a decent side (if a little dirty). Notts were physical and very determined which helped and the defence came back to cover very well. The two strikers were the main difference. They are in a different league and though I'm sure they'll score some goals, they may serve a few suspensions to. No complaints from me today though - apart from the lousy seat I got whilst the Bradford fans got to sit in the sunshine.Nice to see them slinking off home early. Don't believe the attendence figures - they were just farcical. The crowd was 12-13000 if not more.

No comments I see how a manager scouts eight new players and knits them into a unit in 4 weeks to get a 5-0 result. What a manager. Perhaps now he's got some players who have half a brain and pay attention to what he wants them to do. Not doubt that old woman Naggers will find fault somewhere. Let's just hope we can keep this brilliant managerial triumvirate.

Well lets wait and see how it goes before we get too confident.At the moment its obvious that some players are way above the level their at.Money certainly talks. The tactics are still the same though - the ball down the wing and crossed over and yes, even a little hoof ball. What is different is that the team are getting stuck in in the defence and the tackles are pretty brutal - something we've not seen from a County side for some time. Lets just hope it stays that way then none of us will be moaning.

The only way to get out of this league is with wingers a la Nixon and Crickmore in '71 and the same under lying sam in what was it '98. Expect a little refinement when we go up but we will always have one wideish player for width. The reason managers play with wingers at this level is because the defenders are generally poor at retaining possession and distributing the ball. You need balls into the danger area asap witness Westcarr's centre caused mayhem and Hughes prodded it in. If you get tall defenders all they can do is generally head it out, BUT cannot control the direction of the ball hence we get it back and start again until they make a mistake or we get lucky. Now we have some above average strikers for this league, in Hughes we have someone who could still play in div 2 and as I have said will score 25 plus goals this season.

Well lets hope so. I don't know if Donny will bring a full team tomorrow but it would be nice to test ourselves against them.
