The best thing Charlie did was to persuade the players to join us in the first place - last year was the same. The mistake we made on both occasions was allowing him to try and manage them afterwards. This season, starting full of promise, was starting to go the same way as last. It would have ended mid-table. I don't think the owners had any choice. To be fair, Hans said they had contacted him nearly two weeks ago - presumably when they knew they had to replace Charlie. You can't blame them for that.
