The Jagr situation reminds me of when Pavel Bure was with the Canucks. I guess management has to be coy about what they're doing behind the scenes, who they might be talking to, what deals they might be working on. But any suggestion from Patrick that Jagr might still be here next year is laughable. I mean, it's bad enough that they committed to Hlinka without apparently even talking to Bryan Trottier. Jagr doesn't WANT to be back for what would undoubtedly just be more of the same. It's a big trade, for sure. But Patrick shouldn't try to kid anybody that it isn't gonna happen.
: I agree. There are alot of good free
: agents out there. Patrick and
: Mario can make a line stronger
: than our second line by trading
: him and using his salary. Peca,
: Lidstrom, Lindros, Forseberg, just
: to name a few. besides jagr is in
: a 20 million dollar gambling debt.
: That affected his playing the
: most.
: trade him

: It is absolutely vital for the good
: of
: both Jagr and the Pens that they
: trade #68 this summer. Jaromir has
: already made the separation
: mentally, and it would be totally
: counterproductive for management
: to even think of trying to keep
: him in Pittsburgh. He had a
: terrible series against Jersey,
: partly from his injured shoulder
: but also because his mindset
: wasn't where it needed to be for
: him to compete at the level we've
: been used to seeing. So, this
: exquisitely talented athlete is
: destined to start next season with
: a new team and hopefully with a
: renewed enthusiasm for proving
: that he can still be "fire on
: ice."
