Hi Ellena,
My Overdentures will come out at night for cleaning purposes. Due to the shape and small size of my mouth, I was not a candidate for the kind that stay in the mouth. I would never have been able to get into all the nooks and crannies to really clean it well. I am not sure how often I will have to see my Prothodontist once I am discharged from his care after I get the final set of teeth in a few months. I think he originally told me once a year or if something comes up that I need to see him. I'll know for sure when I get the final set of Overdentures. In the meantime, I have been seeing him several times a month since last May when this whole process finally got started after a year of testing and research to find the best solution for me. He hasn't mentioned a problem with the cleanliness of my gums or abutments. Are you thinking of getting Overdentures? Patti
