With the single implants it's a little bit different. Once the implant is placed, there is a four to six month healing period. Afterwards, they uncover the area and place an abutement (also called a healing cap). Then they take final impressions and place the new crowns. I have three implants completely done and I love them. I have an abutement coming up for other two implants.
I wish that implants could be placed and 100 percent functional in one day. That would be so great. I am sure that we all wish this. I hope that science gets us there one day.
