The assistant told you the truth! She was giving you an honest answer. I've had implants placed. Only an oral surgeon should place implants. Its even better if it's an oral surgeon who specializes in implants. I agree that your dentist probably said bridge because he can do it. Remember that a bridge requires that the two surrounding teeth be destroyed. You should do research until you feel comfortable with your choice. I've had extract/implant done in same surgery so that could save you time & money you should ask about this.
