Hi Genevive,
I had my remaining baby teeth extracted, bone grafting of both jawbones and implants put in on May 31st. I, also, was on Aleve for a week after my surgery. It really did help reduce the swelling along with the ice. I was never told I couldn't use ice after a certain point. As you said, all doctors have their own post operative care routines. I was instructed to put ice on my cheeks for at least twenty minutes every hour for 3 days. It felt so good, I did it for about a week and let it stay on longer than 20 minutes. For the first week, I was instructed to eat nothing but cold things and to let it just melt in my mouth before swallowing to help reduce gum swelling. After that, I started on warm blended soups. Now I am in the midst of healing and trying to get used to a full set of temporary teeth. I have a few months to go before getting the Overdentures that will snap onto the implants. Glad your procedure went well and your recovery too! Keep posting on how it's going for you. Patti
