Hi Caroline,
I have had CT Scans that show that I do have some second teeth; but they are too far down to come up and it's not an option for them to be surgically forced up. There aren't enough of them to make a full set of teeth. And if they were able to be forced through the gums,my oral surgeon said I would most likely need braces to straighten them out. I said no to that.
I agree with you that insurance should pay for dental implants. Mine absoulutely refuses to cover anything more than twice yearly dental exams and cleanings and one x-ray. After a year of haggling it out with them, I'm paying for it myself. Hoping it all goes well in the end!
