I was 35 when I finally gave up and had my teeth pulled. I had so many root canals, crowns and bridges over the years but it was a losing battle. Gum grafts that gave me hope but were never enough.
Ten years ago I had what was left of my teeth extracted and went with dentures. I haven't really spoken with anyone about it all, but I felt strange after the extractions. I felt a loss.
It took a while to heal and I had some pain. The temporary denture never did fit right even after many adjustments. The final dentures were much better. I recently heard about dentures attached to you with implants and thought it might give more of a natural feel.
My advice is don't rush into having the extractions done. Give yourself some time to get used to the idea of losing your teeth before actually doing it.
