Here is a Gene doll that has been a "grail" item for me for years...I was even willing to "compromise" and just buy the costume if it came up for auction within my limited price range! Well, my patience and diligence has finally paid off...I was able to get this beauty NRFB and complete for under $100! As with many of the 2002 dolls, she does have a yellowed upper torso and upper arms (which I TRIED to minimize with my free version of Photoshop)...once the hot temps of summer are here, she will get a trip to a very hot car to have her head popped off and placed on a non-yellowed body of the same type (I am out of IT bodies...wish they would offer them again!)...
So, who is this lovely grail Gene? I give you the spectacular 2002 FAO Schwartz exclusive, Spring in Central Park Gene!
By the way, the school year ended for teachers last Friday, so I hope to have time to play "catch-up" on the Gene sites as well as take some photos of more Gene dolls!
I had to change her to a straight leg body, since her original body was so yellowed. But you know what? I love the original straight legged bodies. They are so regal and statuesque.
