Sorry, Madras' surgery had "complications"

Actually her complications had complications!
To make matters worse, my 15 yr old, 4.6 lbs. poodle girl was stricken with bloat ( a big dog affliction which I have since found out can affect poodles, toy or not.) It's been baby food and meds for a while but she seems to be okay. The Emergency room vet could not tell us what caused it, tho he was happy to take our $1500 dollars. Still, I'm happy she made it, it can kill a dog in a couple of hours if not treated very quickly!
Hopefully Madra or one of the girls will show up in a new header in a few days, although Oona is very glad for the nurses gig cash!!!!

becomes ill and can't tell us what's wrong! So happy you got her to the vet in time.

Missed you A LOT and hope things get back to "normal" soon.

I've heard about bloat. Thank goodness your vet was good and she survived this. And the cost!! I thought it was only here in NYC where you had to sell your soul to pay the vet bills. My Sassy's vet bill last year was over $1,500 for removal of a benign mammary lump and teeth cleaning; Still paying that CC charge, but this year in October, another surgery - a malignant tumor in the groin area and teeth cleaning - over $2,000. All I can do is pray they got it all in the surgery, as there was no sign of spreading, and frankly I don't know what else to do. But at least she too is ok.

He survived, but we became very picky about only giving him kibbles that did NOT swell when wet or soaking them first (Wellness makes a great dog food) and NEVER letting him play immediately after meals.
So glad your little girl made it ok!

Oh Joe I am so glad your baby is OK. Give he hugs and kisses for me.

Yes, lots of baby food and meds help. We've had the same expensive vet experiences with our elderly cats, but they were our kids, so we did everything for them. I found out I usually knew more than vet did for a lot less cost...
