The 2004 Annual Edition was "Tellstar" Gene...the first time that Gene was shown in the 1960's...in this case, it is 1961 and Gene is celebrating 20 years in showbiz...this is an amazingly beautiful brocade gown! I think I prefer it without the cape...the necklace is stunning! Her hair is done in a very 60's "do" and has a very pretty butterfly pin in back...I also love the shoes with this one...I have a feeling those shoes are going to be used many times with other outfits! Then only big "change" I would make is to have the voluminous overskirt detachable...it would be nice to be able to also have a long sheath dress in this fantastic fabric! This doll also came with a "people-sized" scrapbook to fill with scrapbook pages outlining some of Gene's career memories...the 2004 dolls and costumes (with one exception) all came with a double sided page to add to the scrapbook...and of course there is a Gene-sized scrapbook as well! I have been wanting this doll since I first saw her promo photo, so am thrilled to finally have her in my collection...like the other "new" dolls, she was bought MIB/NRFB from an online doll store for at the original price-point...and this one shows no signs (yet) of yellowing...
