More clarification from someone who was there

The grab bags were available in the sales room. There wasn't a large quantity of them. They were several different price points. Mostly they included FR items, but there was a small mix of other IT items ( Dynamite Girlz, Gene , AvantGuards, playline etc.)There were a few boxed things, others were just outfits off dressed dolls ( again mostly FR)The grab bags sold out VERY quickly- within the first hour the room was open.
There was some really high end things to be had-again mostly FR. I'd estimate there were less than 15 Gene pieces to be had.There were also plenty of Gene collectors at the convention, so people were happy. It also helped get Gene in the hands of collectors who normally don't bother to look at her. It's always good to have new people interested.
I wouldn't take this as a snub. Also there was no Gene merchandise actually for "sale" in the sales room. This leads me to believe they may be "saving" it for something else.
