Last night the wife and I were in our van, headed out to eat and then buy groceries in Terre Haute. I turned off of US41 onto Ft. Harrison headed east and had barely started to accelerate when this bozo on a new Harley goes blasting by us in the right lane. (I was in the left for an upcoming left turn) I was running about 30 - 35 and the H-D rider was running about twice that and gaining. As he shot around me, a SUV was a few blocks ahead, turning east onto Ft. Harrison as well. His, the SUV driver, vision was partially blocked by some trees and I am certain he did not see the H-D coming at the time he pulled out and if he did, the bike was very far away at the time. The H-D was covering a lot of ground real fast and almost hit the back of the SUV. The poser on the H-D got the bike slowed down enough to sweve into my lane at the last instant to avoid ramming the SUV. He of course swerved back at the other driver to communicate his displeasure, before continuing on down the 30 mph limit street at a very high rate of speed. Had he hit the SUV, I would have stopped as a witness to the riders careless riding. There was no way the SUV driver would have been at fault. As the wife said, "it's idiots like that that give the rest of us a bad name."
