Posted by Matt Sargent Anyway I went with a Honda instead, the 919 to be exact. If you read the article you can probably guess where I'm going with this. I did a pretty good cost anaylsis before decideing on which bike to get and this comment sort of struck me, "Motorcycle Consumer News says that it will cost $360 for a full check up and valve adj. Compared to over $520 for the new Honda 919. " While I can't argue with the cost for the full check up and valve adj., I can comment on the frequency as to which this is done between the two bikes. By the time the 919 is ready for it's first valve adjustment(16K miles according to Honda), the Ducati will have had to have its valves adjusted 2 times(almost 3 given the 6K interval Ducati suggests), giving the cost advantage back to the Honda. So the comparison should actually be $720 for the Ducati and $520 for the Honda. Just a little FYI for potential customers.

I just finished reading the product test on the 620ie. It was actually one of the bikes that started me looking for something sporty yet not as dedicated as my 2000 GSXR750 that I traded away,( with a nice set of tires evidently :D ).
