I have been to Thompsons in Terre Haute and wondered around in there for 2 hours looking dirtbikes and helmets for my wife and no sales man came up to me at all. I purchased a helmet for my son in there at the same time and the only time I was talked to was at the cash register.
So I went to Charlestons new Shop and was looking at a new Honda XR400r or a Suzuki DRZ400e. and I had to sit on one to get some help. I ended up buying the Honda. I was first told that there was a sale and it was $4299 which was $1000 off of MSRP but that the wanted to try and finance me with a Honda card I told them I would not be approved but would pay cash. Well they talked me into going a head and getting processed for honda credit, which I was not approved for and I called and told them I would be up with the cash. This was at 2pm and I was told to come on up I got there and they were shutting off the lights as the close at 3pm. I told them I was told to come on in and the sales man had already left. The Manager helped me out but at a $200 difference in price (more). Well they took off the shipping and prep. So it was close but I could not take the bike as they had to do something to it before I could have it. They said the would deliver it between 12 noon and 2pm the next day . It showed up around 5pm the next day they did not even leave charelston until 3pm. I will not deal with them again nor Thompsons. I am not rich but I make a decent living. I knew I would not be approved for credit because I have almost no credit history 1 loan for my truck and 1 credit card that has not been used in almost 2 years. I am looking for a Wife bike used and was wondering if there are any good people at dealerships any more.
