I rode to work today and even though the temps were in the low 40's, I was fairly comfortable. This was a good change from last season when it got cold. I only made one small change and it made a world of difference. I bought a full face helmet to use and left my open face shorty and goggles at home. The last time I rode with something shielding my face was about 1980 when I was using a bubble sheild. This new helmet is far superior. I had always shied away from a full face due to my head being on the large side (room for all those brains??) and the feeling of tightness from too small helmets. I found one that actually fits and it is not too bad to wear. There was hardly any wind noise and I could hear better. The shorty's straps made so much noise, I'd started using ear plugs to keep from going deaf. Now I don't have to! I know this is not earth shattering news to those who have been wearing full face helmets for years. But for somone who still prefers dial telephones (I have one in the garage), it was worth sharing.
