I stayed up late to finish reading a mystery novel and was woken up too early this morning by someone pounding on the glass panes of the front door. By the time I got to the door no one was on the porch. There was some man on a cell phone across the street who left. Since it was early the rest of the neighborhood was still quiet, nobody else in sight. I went back to bed and a while later was woken up by the door bell, and by the time I got to the door, no one. I went back to bed and wound up oversleeping. I'm wondering if the sales reps from one of the various cable/internet/phone companies were behind this annoyance. I just went through this a week ago with Optimum reps. Early one morning I had one of them pounding on the door. Why can't they just ring the doorbell? By the time I got to the door and peeked out he was back on the sidewalk. I wasn't going to open the door and encourage this guy's sales pitch. Unfortunately another rep was back two days later at dinnertime, this time actually ringing the doorbell and I had to tell him nope, not interested. We were plagued by these sales reps pre-pandemic always pushing special deals, special offers you couldn't get by calling the company or through their website. You needed to sign up with them right now! Ugh, I hate those pressure tactics sales pitches. It's irritating that they're back. I don't want pushy salespeople at the door. Why must they open the storm door and pound on the panes of glass on the inner front door?
It's cloudy and only in the 50s. We're due for showers later tonight and steady rain tomorrow. Tuesday is recycling pickup so I should get that sorted out into the blue plastic tubs. After dinner I'm going to pick up some groceries and get the laundry done.
