This rheumatologist is driving me nuts. Yesterday's appointment was an exercise in frustration. So with my blood work they can see the inflammation with my c reactive protein test being high. The regular ANA test was positive but the ANA Igg wasn't so there's stuff going on but it's not lupus, RA or PSA. So I have typical OA joint damage to the upper joints on some fingers and to the middle joints on some toes. But the swelling to some of the middle joints on some fingers looks more like reactive arthritis, which she thinks is Lyme reactive arthritis. So I have two different kinds of arthritis. But she still refuses to do anything with imaging beyond the poor quality x-rays. No CT scan or MRI to see what's going on under the skin. As my podiatrist pointed out last week you can't see what's going on with the tendons or other things with x-rays alone which is why he ordered the MRI of my ankles and feet for next week. I also keep on telling the new rheumatologist my old rheumatologist said the water on my left knee is an ongoing meniscus problem after repeatedly looking at it with her portable ultrasound machine. But this new rheumatologist refuses to listen and insists there isn't a meniscus issue and won't do an ultrasound of that knee to check. Tomorrow I have to call my primary care doc's office for an appointment later this week. I need to talk to him about all this mess.
