wednesday morn"
Even though the temps never got out of the mid 20s it's was sunny all day so that helped dry the roads. They were also salted again this afternoon so there are just a few dark spots of black ice here and there that are easy to avoid. I spent the afternoon and early evening visiting my mom. At first she was very sleepy but perked up after a while. When I left my sister was still sitting with her. Tomorrow is the calm before the next storm on Friday. It's supposed to go above freezing tomorrow afternoon. After tomorrow it won't go above freezing until Monday. I looked high and low for the spray can of car door and lock ice melt and can't find it. I'll have to run into the auto parts store tomorrow to pick up another can. I'm lucky it snowed for two inches of dry powdery snow coating the car yesterday before the sleet and freezing rain fell just creating a crust over the soft snow otherwise the locks and doors would have frozen shut. After visiting I will run into the supermarket for milk and stop by the laundromat. I should gas up the car again too. A lot to do before Friday's snow and Saturday's deep freeze. Saturday the high temp will barely be in the 20s. I'll be so glad when we get the January thaw next week with temps well into the 40s by the middle of the week.
