wednesday morn"
So my mom was doing well Sunday, but started getting extremely tired again Monday. The hospital sent her home Monday at dinnertime even though she had a low grade fever which they didn't tell me about. It was just listed in her discharge papers. Her fever got higher at home overnight and she had nausea and a stomach ache. Normally our town's EMS doesn't go to the big university medical center campus over in the next county, which is the top hospital in the state and is nationally ranked because it's a little farther away but the EMTs were willing to go there yesterday. So now she's admitted there and they're trying to figure out what's going on. Right off the bat the internist there wants her on a ten day course of antibiotics instead of her being taken off them after three days like the other hospital does. They also have their own home healthcare agency in conjunction with one of the hospitals in our county which I want to look into since my mom's current home healthcare agency is understaffed making it difficult to get appointments for certain things. The ER there is huge and was very busy yesterday with multiple patients suffering with nasty asthma attacks and heart problems so I didn't get home until after 1:30 this morning. I wanted her to go to this hospital in the first place since it's the best, so at least it's a relief she is there. I had surgery there when I was younger. It's where multiple people I know had chosen as the hospital to give birth to their kids and several were treated and cured of cancer, so getting my mom there via ambulance is a big deal.
