My mom had a joint PT/OT appointment. They got my mom up and walking with the walker a little bit. She was able to go forward about 3-4 feet then back up to the daybed. They had her do arm strengthening exercises with a one pound dumbell weight, so I had my sister buy a set of one pound weights from Target.
Unfortunately this home healthcare agency is stretched thin with the therapists, so the physical therapist has to make a request to the administration for her to get PT twice a week every week instead of rotating between one week of two sessions followed by one week of a single PT session. Occupational therapy is only once a week. They're recommending I try to get her walking a little bit this requires two people present right now, but my sister only comes two or three times a week after dinner when my mom's energy level is lower. Not helpful.
