With the frigid air I spent hours on Monday lugging all the delicate plants in flower pots and smaller planters into the house to the basement and side hall, placed on top of plastic bags to protect them from the worst of the cold. Each winter when we get cold snaps with temps that are in the teens or lower I need to do this. One winter the frigid temps lasted too long and we had too many heavy snowfalls to put them back out easily, so the plants started to wake up and produce small leaves. I had to keep them in the house until March.
Today my mom had her last session for the winter at the therapy place and it was just getting exercise work sheets and exercise bands of different strengths. For the heart of winter they just do home visits for those newly recovering from health issues or surgeries. The in-person PT/OT will resume probably in March. Afterwards I did a little grocery shopping. Since the frigid air will return for the weekend and we'll likely be slammed with a storm next Monday I have to get the rest of the grocery shopping and errands done Thursday and Friday, while the temps are still milder.
