The sad thing is, a lot of the horses out there are mixed breeds, and are just as well broke as the purebred/registered ones...so most people would rather stick with a well broke $500 horse, than pay $1000+ for something that is registered/purebred...
Plus, with hay prices going up, nobody can afford to feed their horses, and this is crashing the market. :(
On an ironic note; I am looking for a wellbroke husband-safe horse...and haven't found one yet. I did pay $1400 for one that was supposed to be very gentle, and well trained, but she did not work out as expected. It seems like everyone is talking about how cheap horses are right now, but I can't seem to find a cheap one out there, lol.
