Quick Fairway Bob - 5yr old English Setter male owned by Don Kimble of Andover, KS, has one of the best records in America this field trial season. He has ran 13 times, all 1 hour stakes, and was 4 times 1st, 4 times 2nd, and one runner up championship. 13 trials - 9 placements. He was named KS Horseback Shooting Dog of the Year, Midwest Field Trial Horseback Shooting Dog of the Year, and the winner of the National John O'Neall English Setter Amatuer Shooting Dog Award 2012. This setter has been judged by many astute trial judges and all found him to be a very easy winner. He runs with great class, points bird (both wild and liberated) with extreme straight up poker 12 o'clock tail and always finishes out front. He was 1st at Ardmore Okla against 23 pointers and Runner Up Champion at Region 17 against 42 competitors and 7 or 8 of them were multiple shooting dog champions on the major circuit. This setter's real calling card is his ability to finish the best 10 minutes of his hour stakes going away, out the front door, with more than enough left in his tank. His breeding is not bad either. His father placed 11 times and has Larry Hedge's great breeding male - "Walkabout Jack" - twice in his pedigree. "Jack" produced great trial dogs in every litter he ever sired. He is a brother of Hall of Fame Dog "Hicks Rising Sun" and Ch. Skidrow Joe, Sunflower Sunset, Arkansas Trooper, Ch. Tekoa Mtn Zephyr and Smooth Move, all from H.O.F. "Tekoa Mtn Sunrise". His mother is from R.U.C. High Definition from Ch. See Johny Run, and a daughter of Ch. See Johny Run and Sheray, a super female from Ch. Baraka and Little Apple Star. Star was a great breeding female with over 70 placements on her children. She is also on the father's side of the pedigree. This guy is the real deal and rumor has it another litter will be in the future.

Bob is an awesome dog. I have seen him run on multiple occasions, consistent on all occasions. Don has had a lot of fun with him. Will he ever get much consideration as a stud probably not because people wont breed to a dog that is not in a pros string because most are more concerned about selling pups instead of making better dogs -- : Quick Fairway Bob - 5yr old English Setter : male owned by Don Kimble of Andover, KS, has : one of the best records in America this : field trial season. Sounds like a good one, and one I will incorporate into my breeding if I get a chance. Dogs like this need to be recognized - producers aren't always the big name dogs in somebody's big time string, particularly in setters. They come from anywhere.

I was braced with Quik Fairway Bob and Don at the wild bird trial in Hill City, KS this April and Bob did a nice job there as well on wild spring pheasants. If you don't know how hard those are to handle, try it some time.
Bob was named second and my Dozer dog (Greypointe Hasta Lavista) took third so it was a nice brace in big open country. These are grounds that a shooting dog has to stroll across to look good.
I also reported the Region 17 Shooting Dog Championship and rode every brace. Bob was a worthy Runner Up Champion in a 42 dog stake at the Oliver Ranch in the Kansas Flint Hills.
Well, looks like the cat is out of the bag now! I've been doing some investigating of my own on Bob. He sounds like the real deal! Apparently those guys in Kansas (Don Kimble, Larry Hedge, Wayne Powers)...to name a few, know how to work together and have come up with some great setters over the years. Quik Fairway Bob is a prime example.
