I'm going to try and get one More real good one. I think I have one located. American saddlebred gelding, 5 years old. Kind of proud of him at 3500, but I'll save that much in feed over 4 or 5 years. I want a straight horse this time (No cow hocks s or slough footed) cause they're easier to shoe and stay sound longer, plus I can sell my wAlking mare this fall to pay for him, then pick up one more to have a spare. Walkers are great, but I have not been lucky with them lately. Same with mft' s. I've liked the saddlebreds I've seen, and what they call a trot looks pretty racky to me. Smooth enough to sit and a good fast Lope to catch up with one. Here's to better horses.
Thanks fellas. I am ambulatory ok and Buck is gone, gone, gone, as Johnny Cash says. I've taken more falls in the last few years than all the rest of my riding. Age and balance are catching up to me, but have been lucky by and large. A real good horse is a gem. I've had two, more than share.
Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you have a speedy recovery as much as that's possible.
Good to hear you're on the mend, Paul. Good horses are hard to find nowadays.
