Well, I'm off!

Leaving TC tomorrow AM, Ann Arbor first, then Glenville on Tuesday to see my Pointers and the Tracy clan! Then back to Cleveland to see Jim K and my ECS, and return to Traverse City on Friday. Here's hoping to see some good dogs both places! Normally I would stop in Columbus in order to have dinner at Rigsbys, my favorite restaurant but alas, after 30 years, Kent closed the doors. Other than Rigsbys, I've spent plenty of time in Columbus, 6 years as an undergrad (Hey, I changed majors a lot. ) and 30 as a faculty member after attending law school.
I think that I'm decent enough judge and really not kennel blind so I should have a pretty good idea about the coming Fall season at least. Talent and training will win in the long run imho! I think (hope!) that I have the talent and if I do, it's all downhill because I KNOW that I have the trainers! (The above mentioned two plus Robert E).
When I first started in bird dogs over 50 years ago, I'd finish a trial thinking, "Well, if the judges overlook 'this' and didn't see 'that' then I might get a placement." ROFLMFAO! Didn't take long to disabuse myself of THAT Bull Ship!!
