We love it when you talk that way! It sure does take wild birds to make a real bird dog and I don't give a dern what anyone says or thinks otherwise.
On a good and positive note, I am hearing reports from all over of folks seeing more birds this year - from baby pheasants in Iowa to quail in Kansas, Missouri and Western OK. The mild winter in general seems to have allowed for major survival and much of the nesting period has been early and relatively dry no doubt assisting chick survival.
My guess is that many areas of the country are going to have SOME birds where there were few before. Maybe a dead cat bounce as they say on Wall Street but better than nothing.
Keep working for birds folks!
