Thanks Donnie. That was a nice eulogy. Although I haven't seen or talked to him for over 20 years his image is clear in my mind. I will always remember him and his friendship.

: Merlyn Masters of Liberty Nebraska, formerly
: a native Missorian and fellow field trialer
: and bird dog enthusias, lost his battle to
: pancreatic cancer in the early am hours of
: Saturday, May 25th.
:
: Merlyn was diagnosed with his illness in
: February of this year and throughout the
: time of his illness,am proud to state that I
: was able to provide care and friendship for
: him.I am even happier to state that now an
: old friend's suffering has finally come to
: an end and that he is now with those whom
: have gone before him to dwell in the house
: of the LORD forever.
:
: My only hope is that Merlyn is now at peace
: and living large once again as he sits atop
: a beautiful high stepping, fast moving
: walking horse, following a brace of true all
: age or class shooting dogs in that sacred
: place where the land and the horizons go on
: forever, where the big bottoms are numerous
: and the edges never cease and where the
: whistles of the bobwhite quail and cackles
: of wild pheasants are numerous and heard
: often and the covies are abundant and truely
: amazing, where the call of point echos loud
: and hangs heavy on the morning fog!
:
: Merlyn's remains are being cremated and his
: ashes will be set free in those wild places
: that he cherished and held so dear to his
: heart and a memorial service and gathering
: of family and friends will be held at a
: future date. "Via Con Dios Mi
: Amigo".
