They say you will only have one great dog in your life. I've been fortunate to gave three and a half; one lab who is literally beyond compare, Tanner (from you), Jaeger, and Roxy (from you as well, she's the half).
I have not competed Jaeger in any big money shoots yet, but he's won every smaller format event. I'm going to start running him in NASTRA and really expect him to dominate.
As for hunting, he is literally flawless. I didn't see him make a single intentional misstep all year. He runs like the wind, holds point for 20 minutes without creeping (I've seen him do it a half dozen times while I climbed the 800 vertical feet between his point and my more comfortable route up the mountain), retrieves to hand, listens and has a wonderful personality. I trained NONE if this into him. If you could clone him, you'd be a rich man.
I am working them him Sunday on 40 pheasants I bought at a preserve earlier in the year but haven't had time to kill. I should be able to get some good photos and maybe some video.
he's talking about a pup less than 2 years old here...
