I have not seen max since the end of his first year as a shooting dog, but he had all the natural tools one would ever want in a bird dog. Great nose, natural backer, cooperative both handling and in training. Good ground speed and very stylish pointing and running. Would be interested in seeing some pups out of him. I was out at Harolds camp when I picked him out as a fall derby and saw a number of them from the same litter. I also was able to see Smarty Smith a few times as a derby and a shooting dog. I always liked max better than Smarty Smith. |
