Thanks Everyone,
I am really enjoying this young dog.
She has been knocking at the door since she was a derby, and I was fully expecting to win one this season, her 1st year broke season.
But we haven't been getting the breaks. You know how it is, every field trial it was another unexpected thing to work on, and I was starting to think next year might be her year...
What I really enjoy is working her on horse back on wild birds. To find her ahead on point and flush a covey of valley quail or find her over the hill and still have her birds is the most fun. The field trials cant compete with that with the planted birds etc, but you have to do it to see where the breeding and individuals stand.
I saw a good write up of her sister, Southwind Jetset Drifter, at the 2012 Hobart Ames Memorial field trail, but you cant compare the level of competition she is competing at. I was really impressed with her write up in that competition with 50 dogs.
Also, I am hearing really good things about Mike Spies Cody, from the second litter, I know Jerry has some good ones he speaks highly of and I am really enjoying their younger brother Jag from the third litter. I know there are a couple more out there that are doing well.
The other thing is it has been a collaborative effort, help from grandpa (Jerry Lewis - my mentor), Hal Meyer scouts and does all the stuff Hal does, broken toes, training grounds, Sheldon Twer has helped me sharing his home and training grounds and teaching me and my dogs and Katie Quarton supports me in training and from the gallery.
