Posted by Janet Collester These folks are the on the front lines very day, folks, dealing with the horror and the riff/raff. They have also forged working relationships with several of the brokers who allow them to photograph and post photos of the horses on their web page. If you cannot attend the Benefit on the 22nd of October, 2005, please visit their web site and make a small donation for the horses. If you click on the link for Broker Owned Horses you will see a retired Amish "hack' horse - a 20-ish mare named Emma that we are currently trying to raise funds for to keep her from being sent out west to yet another broker to make the rounds of the sales out there. If you can help with even $10 or $20, please contact Christy via e-mail and let her know. Emma has worked hard for other people all of her life, and deserves better than to be discarded the way she has, and - worse yet - to be shuffled around from sale to sale - possibly to end up on the slaughterhouse. Thank you in advance for anything that you can do. Make it a great day! Janet Collester
