Posted by ErinS on 1/6/2003, 3:03 pm I got an email from Habitat for Horses that are trying to save these horses. Here'e the info.. These horses must be removed immediately. Those not removed by the end of the month will be sold for slaughter. The State of Nevada is only asking $50 for each horse, with no guarantee of sex, breed, age or color. There is no room for egos in this situation. The horses come first. If we are to be involved, we need to raise money and find transportation. Any and all 501.c.3 nonprofits are invited to help, no matter where your location. If you are not a nonprofit, you will need to work through a local nonprofit within your area to obtain one or more of these horses. Nonprofit 501.c.3s are invited to contact me at admin@habitatforhorses.org for specific information about becoming approved. Please send your fax number with your request for information. Remember - this is an emergency. Lets get busy! We need everyone help! She is swamped with emails so she wants you to go the link above. Please pass this message along so we can get the word out. Thanx Tiffanie

An emergency situation has arisen involving between 700 to 900 horses in Nevada. This situation would normally be presented to a members only group, however since the new web site is not yet available for general discussion, Ill present it to the entire news list. We need your input, suggestions and discussion on this subject.
To discuss this subject, Ive set up a Yahoo message room. Click on the link on the right to join> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/habitatforhorses/
