HMS. Vengeance served on loan, to the Royal Australian Navy from 13th November 1952. She was re-commissioned as HMAS. Vengeance. HMAS. Vengeance was returned to the Royal Navy on 13th August 1955, where she was reduced to to Class 3 reserve.
On 13th December 1956, she was sold to the Brazilian Navy and renamed 'Minas Gerais'. She continued in service as the Flagship to the Brazilian Navy until she was decommissioned on Tuesday 16th October 2001.
